Greetings golfers,
Another busy week in the pro shop! More new products have been arriving mainly from Callaway and Sun Mountain. The XR 16 Driver has been performing really well on the new SkyTrak Monitor. For those of you that follow the European Tour the X16 driver was used by Danny Willet on his way to victory in Dubai last weekend. I have already placed an order for one! Sun Mountain have launched their lightest ever waterproof stand bag weighing in at just 2.5lb! Why not pop into the shop and take a look!
Congratulations to Trevor Tye who won a dozen balls for completing the Brand Price Fit Survey in last week's newsletter. After playing over 40 Captain and Pro matches with Trevor, I know it won't be long before he is back in the shop restocking!
We also ran our first nearest the pin competition using the simulator; it was won by Stuart Douglas who managed to hit it to 16ft from 130 yards.
Click here to watch Matt and I explain how you can use alignment sticks to improve your practice sessions.
If you would like more information on these drills please drop into the shop.
Remember this is the best time of year to have a couple of lessons and get your game ready for the upcoming season.
Pros on Tour!
Good Luck to Matt who is heading out to Spain this week to try and qualify for the Amena Tour, also to Ben Wheeler who is out in Egypt playing in his first three tournaments as a Professional on the Alps Tour.
On Thursday Kevin and I will be playing in less glamorous conditions, we will be playing at West Surrey GC in the Winter Alliance Pro-Am Series along with 4 members from the club.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank: Mark Kenyon, Rob Stevens, Martin Wilson, Ben Boardman, Richard Baird and Paul Daniel for their continued support.
This week saw 30mm of rain fall on Sunday night causing damage to just about every bunker on course, gladly the team had them back to normal by Tuesday afternoon. Great Job!
Remember the only way you can drop out of a bunker is under penalty, if your ball comes to rest in water in a bunker you can take a free drop but the ball must still be dropped within the bunker and not nearer the hole.
If a bunker is marked as GUR then it is no longer a hazard and the player may lift and drop without penalty, within one club length and not nearer the hole.
