Well done to all the players who completed the 72 hole especially Kevin who won with a great score of 5 over for the 4 rounds played in some very testing conditions. Looking forward to next year already!!
During the summer months all 3 professional will be playing in Pro-Am events across the south of England, many of these events allow us to take our own teams. If you are interested in playing pop into the shop and I will add you to our list.
Hopefully you're all starting to enjoy a bit more golf now that we're into spring. In an effort to help you shoot lower scores, we'd like to share a few wedge play secrets.
One of the biggest causes of loose ball striking is poor ball positioning. So…
1. Check your ball is positioned correctly under your sternum (pictured below). 2. Now, you need to stay balanced and avoid swaying with your backswing. Leaning back to help the ball up moves the bottom of your swing arc away from the ball. 3. Once you're set-up correctly, it's about trusting the loft of your wedge to do its job. A good way to guarantee this is to take a divot after the ball, which should also help create spin for added control.
Click here or come and see us if you'd like some help with any aspect of your game.
We are a running a Bank Holiday lesson special ; book a 9 hole playing lesson with Kevin, Matt or I and you will receive a free ½ hour follow up lesson. Please call the pro shop to book.
